Volunteer
How can I help?
We look for enthusiastic, caring, non-judgemental, empathetic people able to work as a team, with a keen interest in, or experience of homelessness issues and a desire to support this vulnerable group in our society.
There are many ways in which you can volunteer with FiA. People from all sorts of backgrounds, with a wide variety of skills and availability are needed to make our project a success. For example you could:
Volunteer at the Merton Homeless Drop-In
Around 50 volunteers work with our professional staff. They are essential to the work of the Merton Homeless Drop-In. It would be impossible to run the Drop-In without them, and their commitment is greatly valued.
If you are able to volunteer regularly on Wednesdays or Fridays, you could for instance help make our clients feel welcome, provide assistance with filling in online forms, help run our laundry, or work in the kitchen preparing our much-appreciated meals. We also need volunteers with spoken Polish and Tamil.
