Volunteering
How You Can Help
Join our team of dedicated volunteers and make a real difference in the lives of some of the most vulnerable people in our community.
Our Volunteers
Around 50 volunteers work at the Drop-in alongside our professional staff, and they are an essential part of the Drop-in team. Their friendly and dedicated commitment is greatly valued by staff and service users alike.
We look for enthusiastic, caring, non-judgemental, empathetic people who can volunteer regularly and are able to work in a team. You may have an interest in, or experience of, homelessness issues or a simply a desire to support some of the most vulnerable people in our community.
What we need
Volunteer roles vary - for instance helping make our clients feel welcome, assisting with online benefit claims or job applications, running our laundry and shower service, working in the kitchen preparing our much-appreciated meals or serving tea, coffee and toast. We particularly need volunteers with spoken Polish and Tamil. Contact us at team@mertonfaithinaction.org
Night Shelter
The Winter Night Shelter also relies on teams of volunteers, organised by the individual faith group venues. For more information on volunteering with the Shelter, contact Ashling at ashling@mertonfaithinaction.org
Join Our Management Committee
We also welcome volunteers to join the charity’s Management Committee as Trustees. For more information, please email the Chair of Trustees at team@mertonfaithinaction.org
