About the AMYA:
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association (AMYA), a registered charity, has for decades enjoyed a reputation for serving Merton local communities and working with British charities across the region. With members spread across breadth of the region, the AMYA’s core focus has been on ensuring its members become an integral part of the local communities they live in.
Each year the AMYA launches a nationwide charity campaign called the ‘MKA Charity Challenge’ (MKACC). Under the banner of the MKACC, volunteers were last year able to raise more than a quarter of a million pounds for UK charities through taking part in the 26th annual AMYA sponsored 10k walk and a hike to the French Alps. Volunteers will this year be working hard to top last year’s total. Added to the charity walk and hike, will be an exciting sponsored bikathon.
This year the AMYA is proud to be working with, and raising money for Faith in Action to raise much needed funds to help homeless people.
While religious extremism has done much to distort the true and noble character of the Prophet Muhammad, the AMYA is intent on demonstrating, through following the Prophetic example, that the Prophet, a mercy for mankind, continuously called upon his followers to help those in need, benefit the communities they live in, stand against all forms of oppression and to always strive for the establishment of universal peace.
